For almost two decades as FOX 5/WNYW's meteorologist, Nick Gregory has become synonymous with accurate weather forecasting in the New York market. One of the area's most recognizable and popular meteorologists, Gregory joined FOX 5/WNYW in December 1986 and brings viewers the weather daily on FOX 5 Midday News and FOX 5 News at 5pm. In fact the "New York Post" named him the most accurate weather forecaster from 1988 to 1992. In November 1998, the New York "Daily News" agreed when they named Nick the most accurate weather forecaster.
Every weekday morning you can hear Nick on the 106.7 LiteFM morning show as he presents weather reports several times each hour. You can also listen for his forecast all day long as well.
Prior to Nick's appearing on Fox 5 and 106.7 LiteFM, Nick worked in Jacksonville, Florida and then served as the morning Meteorologist for the Cable News Network (CNN) in Atlanta.
Gregory has been honored with several awards over the course of his career. He has been on the American Meteorologist Society's Board of Broadcast Meteorology and was chairman of the board in 1992. Gregory has received the AMS Seal of Approval for Excellence in Television Weathercasting and has also received the New York City Comptrollers award for Outstanding Community Service.
Gregory graduated from Lyndon State College with a bachelor's degree in meteorology in 1982. He is a certified pilot and flight instructor and also serves as a Pilot for Angel Flight whose mission is to ensure that no financially-needy patient is denied access to distant specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation for lack of a means of long-distance medical air transportation. He is the aviation expert for FOX 5 News. Nick is married with three children.
