Thirteen years at New York's number one station and it continues to be the greatest experience of my career.
Born and raised out in Riverhead, Long Island; I used to think that “the city” was this huge place I’d surely get lost in and would never ever find a place to park the car. Now, I'm reasonably familiar navigating the 5 boroughs and I've come to realize that not only is New York the biggest, it is the greatest city in the world. And unless I’m on the air early Sunday morning, there is no place to park a car.
I attended college at Emerson in Boston. My radio career has taken me to places like Philadelphia, Hartford, Springfield, MA, and Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve also gone from records to tape to CD to hard drives, but that’s another story!
Now, once again New York is home. I live on Long Island with my wife and best friend Tanya, and my two beautiful children, Kyle and Jackie. I enjoy music (all kinds), radio (a good thing), photography, bike riding (aong the beach), building web sites, camping (tents), and cooking (pizza and pasta from scratch). I also spend a lot of time on the LIRR, but that’s mostly out of necessity.
Wine Country
I live on Long Island and one of my favorite places is the North Fork. This area is home to many of Long Island's wineries and now's the time to enjoy tasting new vintages. Here's a link to
LI's Wine Country.
Enjoy!
Forgotten New York
New York City has an incredible history in all facets of life. But sometimes it's the little things that bring back special memories of an era long gone. If you enjoy a little (or a lot) of nostalgia every now and then, Kevin Walsh has put together an incredible site of places in NY 'forgotten' until now.
