Daryl is a teenage boy who could have reason for a whole lot of teenage angst, but instead, he’s been surrounded in love his whole life and can’t really find a reason to be depressed or angry. Check out this nice letter from a young man well on his way to good things…
Delilah, I'm only 17 but I wanted to write to you about my family. All of them have been such a huge and amazing part of my life. When I was young my father left my mom, but I have never held that against him. Even though he should have been a better father he was young, and everyone makes mistakes, so I forgive him. And, even though there wasn't a father figure around, my family
has always filled that space.
I have a very loving, strong mother, amazing grandparents, and very loving cousins, aunts, and uncles. I know I don't tell them enough, but I want them to know that I love them with every bit of my heart. God could not have given me a better family and now that I am about to leave for college I am going to miss them more than anything.
I aspire to be a film score composer and I hope that I make my family proud because they are the one thing that matters most to me. Daryl.
Daryl, thank you for sharing such an uplifting letter today! He’s only 17, but full of heart and gratitude and it will take him far in life. Who are the people you call family? Maybe they’re blood related, maybe they’re not. The people who are there for you when others are not. The people who love you when you’re up and when you’re low. Those are the important people to cling to and cherish. Share a little about them with me at LiteAtNite@1067litefm.com today.
With Love ... Delilah <3
