Get Cozy
Winter's chill means snuggly sweaters, scarves, gloves and boots.

Stay away from the sweatpants this year! For this holiday season, let's get stylish while keeping cozy. Here's the winter's coolest looks that'll keep you warm.

Sweaters
Cardigans are the hippest shape of the season, with their softly form-fitting silhouette and comfortable styling. Go for a classic knit in a soft, heathered hue, or mix it up and choose a chunkier, handmade look. For a trend-bucking wardrobe piece, try a cowl-neck sweater or a wide-necked, off-the-shoulder one in a festive berry shade like blackberry or cerise.

Scarves
You've seen them on the stars and the club kids, now generously-sized and exotic-printed scarves work for everybody. Some of the hottest items this season feature unfinished edges or fringe, plaid, Israeli knits, and decorative prints a la classic Hermes scarves. They're perfect wound loosely around the neck, over a sweater and leggings, or atop a smart shirtdress.

Gloves
With fall's emphasis on Old-Hollywood glamour, gloves have found their way back into the limelight. Keep your fingers warm this winter in traditional fine leather or knits, but don't let it get bulky: the look is refined and luxurious. Younger fashionistas can try funky fingerless versions in thicker knits and whimsical colors.

Coats
The coat of the season is the black-and-white hounds tooth, either in a pea coat form or as an elegant, mid-length topper. Look for a swingy bottom line and a waist-conscious cut. This is a timeless wardrobe staple and you'll be glad for the excuse to add to your collection.

Boots
Boots this fall come in two styles: tall and edgy, or playful booties. Add drama to your look with tall, glam boots in black or deep burnished browns. Decorative finishing and rock'n'roll extras like buckles and straps sex up classic tall looks. Shorter booties are available in a rainbow of jewel colors with whimsical detailing, injecting an exciting shot of color into your wintry look.
