Happy 91st Birthday to Queen Elizabeth! According to BBC, the monarch is choosing to keep it low-key and is spending the day relaxing at Windsor Castle but the occasion has still been publicly acknowledged by the royal households. Buckingham Palace released this photo of the Queen as a baby which is truly stunning. It shows her being held by her mother Elizabeth, Duchess of York, on her christening day on May 29th 1926.
Clarence House also tweeted a throwback photo, picturing the Queen and a young Prince Charles back in 1952!
At midday, there was a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park and 21-gun salute in Windsor Great Park, followed by a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London as well as a special performance by the Irish Guards band!
We hope the Queen has a very happy 91st birthday!
