Posted Thursday, August 7th 2014 @ 9am

Keith Belajonas was found dead in a car near Bartlett and Katan Avenues in Staten Island with a fatal gunshot wound in his head around 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

Belajonas was wanted for the murder of a Philadelphia woman that occurred around 3 a.m., and he took her two young children, ages 4 and 7. An Amber Alert was issued for the children across several states.

The children were found alone and safe in a CVS at 6 a.m., and Belajonas was found dead shortly after. It is unclear at the time whether he shot himself or someone else.
